lyrics
In a life full of gray,
Just trying to live day by day,
All I wanted was some light,
Something to change my cynic’s sight.
Took it slow, to my time,
Took a walk to clear my mind,
When a something caught my eye,
Maybe fate made me walk on by.
Found a lost little filly,
On a trip into the city,
Under unforgiving skies,
I got lost in rose-colored eyes.
As my heart exploded twice,
I didn’t care about the price,
I knew I’d never change my mind,
About this treasure left behind.
In rain and bows though risky I gave all my life away,
And you ask me what I learned.
All this time and the things I’ve done I’ve nothing left to say,
All her love is what I’ve earned.
As she huddles close, so gentle and warm,
I feel so damn lucky to be graced by her charm.
I watch her as she slips into peaceful dreams,
I know now forever’s not as long as it seems.
While up in the air there falls a soft light blue,
I stare up in awe what more could I do?
She tears open the sky and I feel revived,
I let out a sigh because I love my life.
She looks at me now with despair on her face,
She hits me with questions how she came to this place.
She’s hurt and she’s scared, and confused beyond doubt,
But my empty words hurt her more and it’s all my fault.
Three days since she left and the guilt is all my own,
While under the hard, hard rain I found her all alone.
She asks so uncertain if I love her still,
All in my tightest embrace I say I always will.
I always will…
The time had now come for my light to go,
Where will she end up next, I don’t rightfully know.
We said our last loves and our final goodbyes,
Then wait for the end with our tear filled eyes.
And then she was gone, leaving only photographs,
I flip picture to picture and recall all our laughs.
Though my tears are real I don’t need sympathy,
She’s finally safe where she is meant to be
My future is my own in the choices I make,
Even if my life was changed by a happy mistake.
I wouldn’t change a thought, not a single one,
If only for her, I will live on.
In rain and bows though risky I gave all my life away,
And you ask me what I learned.
All this time and the things I’ve done I’ve nothing left to say,
All her love is what I’ve earned.
